Week 8 Reading and Writing

1. Looking Back

Looking back I think that the reading assignments have been both interesting and educational. I enjoy learning about new authors, and even more about authors who I have heard of before. The reading notes have really helped me with my project and I felt much better equipped to deal with the assignment having those already prepared. I did not really like my project very much at the beginning, but hearing the constructive feedback from my classmates helped me to find the errors that I knew were present, but couldn't quite put my finder on. I am happy I don't have to look at it any more though. I began to get tired of looking at my own work. I do think that it was one of my best works in this class so far, but I am also partial to a few analysis' that I have done.

2. Looking Forward

Moving on in the semester I think that I am more comfortable and have a better grip on what is due, when, and how. I was very stressed about all of the reading and notes but I feel I have a system that works better for me now. I think that I still have a ways to go when it comes to deadlines but feel better about it.
I would like to be a bit more creative (as per my nature) rather than so analytical. I am just not sure how to accomplish this.
Finally, I would like to be a better writer and have my essays and projects be a bit more clear cut. I tend to introduce a lot of ideas in order to meet page or word requirements (I hate those) rather than writing a great clear and decisive essay.

  1. Hey Savannah!
I completely understand getting tired of seeing your own work, after a while it seems like everything is wrong with because you have been staring at it for so long. I also have a system for doing my homework so I am glad I'm not the only one. Also glad I am not the only one that adds things in for length. Those types of requirements are the worst and its like they take away from the overall thesis because people have to stretch it out. I look forward to more of your work.
