Helped to lead a movement for Latin American independence from the nations of Spain. Replay of a South American to a Gentleman of This Island [Jamaica]

Born in Venezuela in 1783 (44)
In 1811 he thought in a bottle that achieved “fragile independence” for Venezuela. (44)
Bolivar route Olivia‘s constitution“... and a series of influential political manifestoes.” (44)
“The hatred that the Peninsula has inspired in us is greater than the ocean between us.”(44)
when talking about the oppression of the people of his nations.
“The teams have been broken; we have been freed, and our enemies seek to enslave us a new. For
this reason America facts desperately, and sell them as the desperation failed to achieve victory. “
(45) - this is very true. When you push a nation to do desperate things, their desperation will lead to
determination.
“The time is come at last to repay the Spaniards torture for torture into round that race of annihilators
and it’s own blood or in the sea. “(46)
“… For over 1 million men have parish, as you can see in in the report of Mr. Walton, who describes
faithfully the bloody crimes committed in that abundant Kingdom. “ (46) - it does astound me how
such a large number can be counted, yet seemingly nothing was done about it.
“Is even more difficult to foresee the future feet of the New World, to sit down it’s political principles,
or to prophecy what manner of government it will adopt. Every conjecture relative to America’s future
is, I feel, pure speculation “ (47) - we all know how this ended up. But it is interesting to read a
foreign man’s take on the situation that was happening in America during this time. It is very
interesting to see it from another perspective.
“Notwithstanding that it is a type of divination to protect the result of the political course which
America is pursuing, I shall venture some conjectures which, of course, or colored by my enthusiasm
and dictated by rational desires rather than by reasoned conclusions.” (48). He kinda gets close.
“States are sleeves because of either the nature or the misuse of their constitutions; a people is
there for enslaved when the government, by its nature or devices, infringes on and usurps the rights
of the citizens or subject. “ (48) - truth even today.
“We have been harassed by the conduct which has not only depraved us of our rights but has been
harassed by a conduct which has not only deprived of us of our rights but has kept us in a sort of
permanent infancy with regard to public affairs. “(48)- most people even today do not understand the
full scope of the government. We are kept in the dark and sheltered from the truths that we rightfully
should know. All under the guise of national security.
“Then will though sciences and arts which, born in East, have enlightened Europe, wing their way to
eat free Columbia, which will cordially bit then welcome. “ (49) - they want to better themselves and
be a cultured and educated nation.
